Overview
Child profiles in Bairn allow you to personalize content for each child in your family. These profiles help ensure that stories and podcasts are tailored to the appropriate age group and content preferences for each individual child.
Note: Child profile functionality is currently being refined in the iOS app. Basic functionality is available, with enhanced features being developed.

Available Child Profile Information
Based on the current implementation, child profiles collect the following information:
Basic Profile Information
Child's Name
Used for personalization in stories and podcasts
Required field for profile creation
Age Group
Choose from: Toddler, Preschool, Elementary, Tween
Determines content complexity and vocabulary level
Required for appropriate content generation
Avatar Selection
Choose from available avatar options
Visual representation for profile identification
Optional but recommended for easy profile recognition
Birth Date
Optional field for more precise age-based content
Can be left blank if you prefer to use age group only

Setting Up a Child Profile
Step 1: Access Profile Management
Open the Bairn app
Tap your avatar in the top-right corner of the home screen
Select "Profile" from the menu
Choose "Child Profiles" or similar option
Step 2: Create New Profile
Tap "Create New Profile" or "Add Child Profile"
Enter the child's name (required)
Select age group from the available options:
Toddler (2-4 years): Simple language, basic concepts
Preschool (4-6 years): Familiar words and settings
Elementary (8-10 years): Chapter book level complexity
Tween (10-12 years): Advanced themes and vocabulary
Choose an avatar from the available options
Set birth date (optional but recommended)
Step 3: Configure Preferences (Optional)
Select favorite genres that interest your child
Choose preferred story length for default settings
Set reading level if you want to customize complexity
Configure voice preferences for narration
Step 4: Content Filtering (Optional)
Set maximum violence level allowed in content
Configure scary content permissions
Add any blocked keywords if desired
Enable additional content filters as needed
